Went for a nice long walk with Megan on Friday night. We hung out by the Sturgeon River for a while and just chatted. It’s so nice there in the evening…..so quiet. The river was like glass! This was shot hand-held @ 3200 ISO. Pretty impressive….

I have been wanting to do a shot like this for a while……and i finally got around to doing it tonight. I have been keeping an eye out for some buildings to do this sort of shot…..and there is one going up by my work. I’ve been watching it and waiting until it got to a certain stage of completion where this would work.
WOW was this ever a LOT of work. Not just shooting it………but editing as well. I’m pretty happy with the final result!!

I like this photo for a couple of reasons.
#1 because of the detail and feel of the lock
#2 because of the symbolism
My heart has been locked up pretty tightly the last 6 years since my last serious relationship. I’ve dated here and there…..been with girls for a while…..but i haven’t really ever found someone that totally gets me. I think I’ve finally found the person that has the key to my heart stashed in her pocket……well actually she found me.
She’s the reason i have a stupid smile on my face all day long…….she’s the reason my photos haven’t been making it up on time…..I haven’t been this happy in a long long time……and it feels amazing.
I’ve told her this before….and it’s totally true, she’s the type of girl that boys write songs about.
Cheesey……..i know, but i don’t really care.
oh…..and happy bokeh wednesday!!!

So I forgot to mention…..that when i got back to work after vacation, my company decided to start on some roof repairs. My office……where i spend 9 hours a day…….has stunk like tar and chemicals. It’s pretty damn gross. And it gives me flashbacks to when i had a very short employment with a company that did the very same thing. WORST JOB EVER!!
The trailer/tank/pot or whatever you call it where they cook the goo for the roof was pretty interesting…. visually anyway. Lots of different textures and tones. Man that job was terrible…..so messy and smelly…..and dusty and sticky…..wow…..

I spent my Sunday afternoon at the race track. I FINALLY made it out shoot some actual racing……..and it turned out to be the last racing weekend of the season…..how depressing. Where the hell did the summer go?
I’m going to miss being right in the middle of the action for another cold ass winter. I’m also not ready to park my bike for the season. Especially since i have found someone who likes to join me on the back of the bike…..

I’m 50% finished 366!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And to celebrate my 50% mark into this journey by spending a very special day with Jeff and Monique on their VERY special day! Once again i teamed up with Andrea Hanki from Pink Sugar Photography to shoot another of her clients weddings with her. Good people…..good day….good food……good pictures ![]()

Last night i met up with some friends that were on their way back home from houseboating in the Shuswaps. We looked around for a hotel to stay in Banff……but EVERYTHING was booked. Unreal. Se we tried Canmore……same deal.
We ended up finding a place in Dead Mans Flat…..what a name. Anyway this morning i was woken up by light shining in through the window, so i got up to close the blind. When i looked out the window…..this is what i saw. WOW. Gorgeous. So i grabbed the camera, snapped a few photos, closed the blinds, and then slept for 3 or 4 more hours. haha. oh…..and holy crap i forgot how boring driving in Alberta is. WOW. The only thing that keeps you awake on the roads are all of the damn bumps. I miss BC already.

Well my journey home got off to a bit of a rocky start (no pun intended).
I left Comox at 3:30am hoping to catch the 5:15 ferry in Nanaimo. Well about 30 mins outside of Nanaimo…a deer decided he was going to cross the highway and see how tasty the grass was on the other side of the road. I was going about 120-130….it was pitch dark….rainy….. I just passed a vehicle and threw the highbeams back on when i saw the deer. I swerved to the right and missed it by inches…..i’m not even exaggerating a bit…..it was SOOOOOOO close.
Because of the slippery highway when i went to correct the swerve….the back end of the car decided to fish tail…and just when i had recovered…i already had 2 wheels in the center ditch and i ended up going into the ditch for a little drive. I finally got the car back on the road about 200 feet later and came to a stop. My car is fine but the lower front bumper took a bit of a hit and the 3 lower grills/covers decided to pop out.
The car i passed stopped to see if i was alright. The driver of the car asked if i clipped the damn deer it was so close…..and then he complimented me on my driving. LOL. I spent the next 45 mins looking through the ditch for the parts i lost…..but i couldn’t see anything with my dinky little flashlight.
Needless to say….my journey home was not off to a good start. BUT…..i’ll take a couple of missing pieces over a destroyed car and deer guts everywhere.

I went down to the beach in the morning trying to catch low tide and see if i could grab some interesting shots of some crabs or starfish……but i was too late……and just got a fish skeleton. LOL I’m definitely going to miss the ocean though…..sadly my days in BC have come to an end and it’s back home on Saturday.
