Galatea Lakes – Landscape – Kananaskis

A few friends and I ventured out this weekend to check out Galatea Lakes out in Kananaskis Country, Alberta. I had read some great reviews of the hike, but the photos I had seen did not even do this place justice once we finally crested the last ridge before Lower Galatea Lake. The blue/green glacial water laying below sheer cliffs hundreds of feet above were beautiful.  Not a bad place to spend the afternoon casting some flies and catching some trout.  I feel so lucky to live so close where I do.

Big Turbo Grocery Getter – Edmonton Automotive Photographer

One fun and fast little wagon. Built 1.8T + GT2871R + 30 PSI = FUN (about 400 horses of fun).  Such a clean looking Audi A4 Ultrasport Avant bathed in a beautiful prairie sunset.

Meteors, Mud, Touaregs, and Trout – Alberta Landscape Photographer

Why do the adventures that seem so last minute turn out to be the best ones?  On a whim I decided that given the lack of moon and the Persieds Meteor shower was peaking at pretty much the same time, I loaded up my photo, camp, and fishing gear and headed out to one of my favorite places in Alberta…Nordegg.  The skies were clearing, the weather was warm…all the stars seemed to be aligning (for once).  Anyway I thought I’d post a few of my favorite shots from the adventure.  The sky was amazing, the fishing was fantastic, and the scenery was breath-taking as usual.

The mountains are truly my reset button.

In awe over the Aurora – Edmonton Landscape Photographer

There are advantages to living this far north…   Long summers, beautiful sunsets, world class snow for snowboarding…..but one of the most incredible things to experience is Aurora Borealis.  I could stare at the sky endlessly watching the light dance and move across the sky in waves.

Joan - Fantastic shot.

True Alberta Cowboys – Alberta Commercial Photographer

One of my favorites from a shoot that I was commissioned for with a commercial client.  The weather started out a little iffy, but I was rewarded in the end.  Such an amazing sunset and amazing people to work with.
