Iceland – I travel to the land of volcanoes, waterfalls, and rainbows

I had the opportunity to travel to Iceland this summer and do a self-drive tour around the lesser traveled Westfjords of Iceland.  What an amazing place…   The country is such a vastly different landscape than what I’m used to here in Alberta.  It was almost like looking at a scene from Jurassic Park or something with huge moss-covered mountains everywhere with a waterfall pouring out the side of it at least every few km’s.  A week was definitely not enough time to spend in the magical country.  When I go back I am definitely taking my fly rod!

The Rivervalley – Edmonton

I was out doing a little mountain biking today.  It’s probably one of my favorite pass-times during the summer.  The river valley is such an amazing place in the summer to spend time and explore.  I find new trails every time I go out!

Beautiful Alberta Prairie Sunset

I just happened to hear bout Wedding dresses Victoria by driving past this scene last night and had to find a place to pull over and snag a shot.  Something about the contrast……the light…..the shadows….   Anyway I just wanted to share.

Lightshow – Edmonton

I’m not quite sure what it is about the weather patterns these past few years…..but they have certainly given us some epic storms.  It was too hot to sleep, so I figured I might as well take in the lightshow from my balcony.  This is probably the best lightning show I have ever taken.  It’s too bad it was hand-held, but I still love it.

Kirstin & Mike – Engagement – Edmonton

I have known Kirstin for a number of years…..and I was honored that her and Mike asked me to be a part their big day.  We spend a beautiful (and hot) summer evening together shooting some photos for their engagement in a pretty special place for them.  We were shooting in the park where they spend a lot of time together before Mike popped the big question right by the tree they used to climb.  Such a cute story, such a cute couple, such a fun night.  I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.  I can’t wait for their wedding!!
