Heather & Jared – Wedding – Edmonton

The day started off a little gloomy and rainy….but we certainly didn’t let that get to us.  It was a day full of emotion and some challenges for sure but it certainly made for a fun and exciting day.  There certainly were no dull moments on this wedding day!

time…

where has it gone? why don’t I ever seem to have enough of it? It’s now nearly the end of summer…and it feels surreal.  I have been going full-out with shooting and with life for the past little while and have seriously been behind on blogging.  I have a little taste of what’s to come, and I’m working on a new project that I’m very excited about as well.

Stay tuned…  updates in the next few days, but these for now…..

Shot some photos for Bikram Yoga East Edmonton‘s Grand Opening

I moved…..after spending 3 months finding the right place

Did an engagement for Kirstin and Mike who are getting married next weekend!!!  So excited!!!!!!

Shot Heather and Jareds wedding a few weeks ago 🙂  Such a great day!

I have decided to get a puppy as I miss having dogs around very much.  I was put in touch with the owner of two Hungarian Vizslas (Lenny and Olive) who was kind enough to let me spend some time with her and her dogs to see what they’re like.  I’ll be getting my little guy in the spring….I am terrified and excited at the same time.

I am starting a new project that I have been wanting to do for YEARS ever since I came across a dog photographer during my 366 project who inspired me….so stay tuned for updates on this.

Joan - I have been waiting a long time for some new and exciting photos. They are wonderful, I don’t know where you find the places for your photos but I guess that is the talent and artistry you have. Can’t wait for more. Joan

Lisa Felicitas - 1) Please please please tell me you are getting a Weimaraner.
2) Awesome lightning shot!
3) Do you do anything special to take those shots during bikram? I feel like you risk having sweat seep into your camera.

Chris Paltzat - Thanks Lisa Felicitas!

Actually I’ve decided against a Weimaraner. I have decided to get a Hungarian Vizsla instead. They’re very similar in looks and temperament though……but the Vizsla is slightly smaller and a little more out-going.

I didn’t do anything special with the camera as my body and lenses are weather-resistant. I wish I could have done something about the sweat getting into my eyes thought. Damn it was hot in there. 🙂

Heather and Jared – Engagement – Elk Island Park

Heather, Jared and I spent a beautiful fall evening wandering around Elk Island Park where they met a number of years ago.  They got to know each other there over a few years and then Jared finally proposed to her.  Such a great love story 🙂

It was a perfect day….   I don't think we could have asked for nicer colors, better weather, of a more incredible sunset.  🙂  Can't wait to shoot their wedding this coming July!

Joan Paltzat - Love your new photos. Keep up the good work. I missed looking at this site during the winter.

A Few Car Shoots – Edmonton Automotive Photography

I tried my hand at something a little different this summer.  Anyone who knows me knows that I'm a huge gearhead.  This past summer I figured I'd try out a little something different from the weddings and portraits that normally occupy my summers. I wanted to share a few of my favorites from this summer….

Nick - Hi Chris,

First of all, great pics. Secondly, a few friends of mine are trying to do some car photo shoot before winter but we have hard time finding the right place. Could you recommend a few places like empty parkade, old or abandoned industrial area etc? Thanks for your time.
